First Community Health and Care are looking for an enthusiasticand dynamic person to lead the adult team in Surrey (Band 6 dietitian, band 5dietitian and dietetic assistant support) Joinour friendly team of 19 dietitians, dietetic assistants and administratorsdelivering adult and childrens services across east Surrey and parts of WestSussex. The post holder will need tohave excellent communication skills, clinical skills covering nutritionsupport and more complex neuro dietetics. This role will also line manageothers in the team and support students. Youwill support the team to continue to deliver excellent patient care based onthe needs of the local community. The post holder will be supported by theservice lead to formulate the operational delivery plans and strategicdirection of the service in line with First Communitys objectives. This is agreat opportunity to lead and develop the east Surrey adult service with afriendly, supportive and innovative team of dietitians. This is a part time role, 22.5 hours per week. Main duties of the job Youwill manage a caseload of complex HEF patients, providing specialistnutritional assessment, support, and ongoing monitoring in the communitysetting. You will also oversee a caseload of patients with neurologicalconditions such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and Huntingtons disease,ensuring tailored dietary interventions to optimise nutritional status, qualityof life, and symptom management. Line manage a Band 6 and Band 5 dietitian offering supervision andguidance as needed. Review and develop the service to meet the needs of the local population and in linewith the service objectives. Person Specification Experience At least 4 years post graduate clinical experience Experience of managing enteral feeding Understanding the importance of effective multi-disciplinary working Experience in training/teaching other health professionals Dietetic student training, supervision, assessment, training and programme development Skills Ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team with excellent communication, liaison, negotiation and influencing skills Ability to assess and treat adult clients and evaluate dietetic intervention across a range of clinical needs Ability to prioritise workload unsupervised IT competency Good organisational and time management skills Ability to deliver presentations and training as required Ability to remain calm under pressure and flexible to the needs of the service Able to deal with distressed patients and/or relatives/carers. Knowledge Expert knowledge in nutrition support Demonstrates consolidated clinical dietetic knowledge and skills in the specified field of nutrition support Demonstrates good knowledge of, and ability to apply, evidence base in relation to dietetic practice Show understanding of value of quality improvement and audit within clinical practice. Demonstrates good knowledge of all aspects of enteral feeding in adults Qualifications BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent. HCPC registration Evidence of Continual Professional Development through approved courses and other relevant activities BDA membership Other Willingness to participate in continuous professional development Is motivated to take responsibility for own actions and promotes good team working practice appropriately Treats others with courtesy and respect at all times Access to a car holding a current driving licence for UK and expected to drive to meet requirement of the post due to semi-rural location.
