The One Show is a live, weekday magazine programme on BBC One, bringing viewers a mix of topical stories, entertainment, and human‑interest films. Our team works behind the scenes to make the show happen – coordinating studio and film shoots, managing logistics, and supporting talent. As an apprentice, you’ll play a key role in helping the team deliver the show each day, gaining hands‑on experience across both studio and film production. This is an entry‑level position into production management; you will work as a Production Management Assistant, supporting our Production Managers and Production Coordinators in creating quality content across TV, audio, online, events, and digital platforms. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT As a Junior Production Coordinator apprentice with The One Show, you will: Help organise travel, accommodation, and crew bookings for shoots Write call sheets and assist with scheduling and budget tracking Support filming on location and in the studio, working closely with talent and crew Learn about post‑production processes and help with submitting expenses Contribute to daily planning for the live show, adapting to changing content Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be eligible to apply for roles such as Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary or Production Coordinator, depending on your experience inside and outside the BBC. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must: Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026 Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship Not be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation For candidates under 19 years old at the start, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above (or National 5 in Scotland at C) or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent. If not achieved, you will need to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end‑point assessment To apply for this scheme, you must also: Be passionate about the production management side of making content.
