Playdays Day Nursery offers childcare services in Wimbledon, London, providing a nurturing and educational environment with experienced staff. Responsibilities Work with children aged 0-5 years, organizing activities and providing proactive care within the early years teaching sector. Meet children’s personal and emotional needs, including diaper changing, feeding, and building relationships. Provide all aspects of care and support to children, ensuring participation in daily learning and play. Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑presented setting. Collaborate with colleagues and contribute relevant ideas to achieve high standards of care. Create a warm, friendly and stimulating environment to support children’s emotional, social and educational development. Attend team meetings and implement the setting’s confidentiality policy. Support children’s transitions through significant events such as moving to school, moving house, or the birth of a sibling. Identify children at risk of harm or abuse, and follow safeguarding procedures. Identify and report risks and hazards in the provision during on‑site and off‑site visits. Apply infection control measures for hand washing, food preparation, waste disposal, and use of PPE. Use equipment, furniture and materials safely, following manufacturer instructions. Encourage personal safety, hygiene practices and healthy eating, and promote physical activity. Implement respectful care routines appropriate to each child’s development and needs. Communicate effectively with children, parents, carers and other professionals, using both verbal and non‑verbal methods. Plan and review educational programmes that support holistic development through play, creativity and social learning. Observe, assess and record children’s progress, and share findings confidentially in line with statutory requirements. Qualifications Level 2 Technical Certificate. Level 2 Functional Skills in English, maths, and ICT. NVQ Level 2 in Childcare during apprenticeship; opportunity to progress to Level 3. Key Skills and Attributes Attention to detail, organisational skills, customer care skills, problem solving, analytical skills.
