Join to apply for the Marine Project Manager role at Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) Our Project Management team is the main interface between us and our customers, coordinating and expediting all aspects of projects including planning, managing budgets, coordinating teams, and ensuring successful delivery. This role is 100% site‑based, working closely with both internal teams and our customer managing complex, fast‑paced marine projects. Take full ownership of multi‑million‑pound marine projects from the initial estimating, design and planning stages through to final delivery, ensuring all technical, financial, and stakeholder requirements are met. Manage and coordinate all stakeholders by developing and executing detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management. Facilitate communication and collaboration while monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications, providing regular project updates and reports to senior leadership and our clients. What are we looking for? An engineering qualification – preferably in mechanical engineering or a related field – with solid project management experience in ship repair, defence, or a marine engineering environment. Experience thriving in a busy, boots‑on‑the‑ground setting – not behind a desk. Confidence in working day‑to‑day with senior stakeholders, including the customer. Eligibility for MOD security clearance is essential. Proficiency in MS Office and planning tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or a similar platform. Skills in procurement and budget management, including data analysis, Excel, and accurate management reporting. A strong planner and organiser comfortable making decisions to meet targets.
