Residential Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Waking Nights Support Worker to join a well-established children’s residential home located in a peaceful setting in Hampshire.
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing overnight care and emotional support to children, ensuring a calm, stable, and safe environment during the night.
This role can be full-time or part-time offering salary range of £12.80 - £14.00 per hour for 20 - 40 hours work week.
You will be responsible for:
Provide a secure, emotionally supportive environment overnight, following trauma-informed practices such as PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy).
Stay alert and responsive throughout the shift, working independently to address the children’s needs.
Conduct regular checks on children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing while respecting their privacy.
Provide comfort, guidance, and reassurance to children who may experience emotional distress during the night.
Assist children with bedtime routines and early morning transitions.
Maintain clear communication with daytime staff during shift handovers, ensuring continuity of care.
What we are looking for:
Previously worked as a Residential Support Worker, Support Worker, Keyworker, Care worker, Residential, Care Assistant or in a similar role.
At least 1 year of experience working with children in the UK.
A willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved).
A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care.
Valid Uk driving licence.
Right to work in the UK.
Shifts: 10:00pm - 8:00am
