Infection Prevention and Control Assistant Practitioner The closing date is 07 December 2025 To support the work of the IPaC team with the IPaC audit programme, IPaC link champion training and development, IPaC training, IPaC and TB outbreak screening and FIT testing. This role can be offered as fixed term or secondment. Main duties of the job To support and contribute to the delivery of the Infection Prevention and Control service to patients and staff within Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust and externally. Job responsibilities Provide IPaC hand hygiene training internally to NCHC staff and externally (e.g., care homes). Carry out hand hygiene and commode audits across NCHC staff and externally. Attend external premises to screen people using nose and throat swabs (e.g., farms or homes of farm workers for avian influenza). Have competency for High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) PPE donning and doffing. Person Specification Qualifications Foundation Degree in Health or Social Care or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and skills acquired through training and experience. Experience of working in a health or social care setting. Experience Experience of working with people in the statutory/voluntary/private sector. Experience of working with people at the end of life. Evidence of ongoing learning. Experience dealing with members of the public / service user enquiries. Experience of working in people's homes. Knowledge of NHS policy and procedure. Skills Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in‑house training & short courses. Highly motivated. Able to work to strict deadlines in a pressurised environment. Knowledge of multi‑disciplinary team roles. Experience of working in a community setting. Communication Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, appropriate to supporting team members. Ability to communicate with a wide range of professionals. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English. Ability to promote best practice and contribute to service development. Shows respect for others' feelings, views and circumstances. Experience dealing with complex issues from members of the public or service users. Ability to liaise and coordinate with teams from other departments and organisations. Personal and People Development Evidence of own personal development and experience.
