Security Officer

Join to apply for the Security Officer role at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services. £13.94 per hour, 10 hours per week on a Wednesday. Extra hours available for Ad Hoc and other core sites. Drivers licence and own vehicle required due to location. Job Overview Protect our customer's property, people and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer, fully responsible and accountable to aid in the retention of the contract. Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development. Main Duties Operations Be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies. Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions. Proactively review the Assignment Instructions, familiarise yourself with any changes and suggest amendments to improve service quality. Comply with Industry and Statutory Legislation (obtain a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision, and a CCTV PSS SIA Licence). Additional courses contractually required. Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role. Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority. Work in a systematic, methodological and orderly way. Training Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training. Undertake additional training directed by the Security Account Manager to ensure continuous self‑development. Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continuous professional development. Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry. Security and Health & Safety Look out for, and immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site. Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage. Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening. Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers. Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry soon after any incident, for use as part of the Incident Report process. Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client. Ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions. Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
