Job Summary We are looking for motivated and forward‑thinking clinical pharmacists to work with our team and extend our service in Acute and Emergency Medicine at the Royal Liverpool Hospital. We have fully integrated electronic systems to help you deliver excellent clinical care to your patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and delivery of a high‑quality, proactive and patient‑focused clinical pharmacy service to the Acute and Emergency Medicine areas (Emergency Department and the Acute Medical Unit). Responsibilities Assist the Lead Pharmacist for Acute and Emergency Medicine in the development of pharmacy services and medicines management within the area. Assist the Lead Pharmacist for Acute and Emergency Medicine in providing clinical training and supervision, relevant to the area, for other departmental staff. Provide non‑medical prescribing services. Provide an advanced clinical service to Acute and Emergency Medicine in accordance with professional, departmental and Trust policies. Provide highly specialist pharmaceutical information to medical and nursing staff, patients within the Care Group, and to General Practitioners and other staff within the Trust where appropriate. Act as an independent prescriber in accordance with the Trust's Non‑Medical Prescribers policies and guidelines (once registered as a non‑medical prescriber). Participate in the therapeutic drug monitoring service provided in accordance with departmental procedure; in particular gentamicin prescribing and monitoring. Qualifications & Requirements Qualifications – Essential Vocational Masters degree in pharmacy. Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council. Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent documented experience. Qualifications – Desirable Full NMP qualification. MRPharmS. Skills – Essential Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Self‑motivating and able to motivate/inspire others. Skills – Desirable Ability to affect and manage change. Experience – Essential Significant experience in a relevant specialist pharmacist role. Antimicrobial stewardship experience. Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development/education. Experience – Desirable Experience as a NMP. Other – Essential Computer literate. Knowledge – Essential Excellent clinical knowledge and practical clinical skills for the relevant specialist role. Good all‑round clinical knowledge and practical clinical skills.
