Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services Location : Bolton Salary : £35,000 - £45,000 DOE A growing building services consultancy in Bolton is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects while developing your technical expertise and progressing toward senior-level responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Assist in the design and delivery of mechanical building services across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. Produce mechanical calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports. Work closely with senior engineers to develop designs that meet client, legislative, and sustainability requirements. Participate in site visits, surveys, and inspections to support project delivery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical engineers, architects, and contractors. Contribute to design reviews, project meetings, and coordination tasks. What we’re looking for : Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2–5 years’ experience in a building services design role. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, public health services, and low‑carbon technologies. Experience with design software such as IES, Revit, or similar (advantageous). Good communication skills and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset. Keen to develop professionally, with support toward chartership available. Benefits : Competitive salary.
