Charity People are delighted to be supporting a Voluntary Service Council to recruit a Strategic Lead. The charity has been administrating and managing grants for around two decades. They have a collaborative grant-giving programme, where they work with local people and organisations to raise funds that are distributed across the borough to charitable organisations that are working locally to tackle inequality and change lives for the better in Merton. TheStrategic Lead will lead, develop, and manage the giving programme for a charity in collaboration with key stakeholders and partners. This will involve the development and implementation of a programme strategy and business plan, as well as supporting colleagues to develop and implement fundraising, marketing, and grant-making strategies and plans. Key responsibilities Organisational strategy & business plan : Develop and implement an innovative programme strategy and sustainable business plan for the giving programmeand align strategy and plans with funder objectives and the wider aims of the charity. Partnership development : Identify and secure new partners to support the giving programme'ssuccess, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders (London Borough of Merton, Merton Chamber of Commerce) to unlock fundraising, marketing, and grant-making opportunities, convene and facilitate quarterly Steering Committee meetings and produce update reports, and represent the giving programme. Grant-making : Assist the Grants Manager in developing a comprehensive grant-making strategy, including participatory practices, and ensure robust monitoring and evaluation for all grant-making initiatives. Budget management : Oversee programme income and expenditure in collaboration with the Finance Team, lead on budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting; produce quarterly finance reports for the Steering Committee Fundraising and marketing : Support the Fundraising & Engagement Manager in delivering a sustainable fundraising strategy, and work with the Marketing Manager to implement an effective marketing strategy that enhances the giving programme'sprofile. The successful candidate will have significant experience of developing and delivering community programmes across borough or equivalent. You will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences : Ability to create, develop, and deliver quality programmes and projects Significant experience of staff or volunteer line management and development Ability to network and form positive and productive working relationships with a range of people from different professional and personal backgrounds Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills Excellent co-ordination and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise and plan own workload, manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently Experience of gathering and analysing data to evidence outputs and outcomes Strong leadership skills with the ability to innovate, inspire and gain respect at all levels of an organisation Understanding of fundraising Understanding of local knowledge of the voluntary sector, knowledge and understanding of outcomes focused work, and excellent IT skills including experience of Office365 and databases. If you have worked within a grant-giving organisation before this would be beneficial. The charity is based in Mitcham (CR4 3UD) and you will be willing to attend the office at least 1-2 times a week, as well as be able to attend meetings and events within Merton.
