Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Health Care Support Worker

Job SummaryWe are looking for a dynamic individual to assist in the delivery of Physiotherapy to our orthopaedic wards at VHK. The caseload is predominantly to patients who have undergone orthopaedic surgery whether that is from trauma or from a planned operation such as a knee or hip replacements. There will be a medical component to the caseload too. An SVQ Level III in health sciences or equivalent is required, together with evidence of clinical competence and skills that include assessment and treatment of patients.You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of common inpatient orthopaedic conditions with particular reference to fracture management and joint replacement. An understanding of frailty would be advantageous and a good working knowledge of appropriate daily living aids and appliances e.g. walking aids, bathing accessories is essential.
