Our client, a leading national construction firm, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Site Manager to oversee significant building projects in and around Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, UK. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the successful, safe, and timely completion of construction works on site.The Senior Site Manager will manage all on-site operations, including personnel, resources, and adherence to project schedules and quality standards. Responsibilities will encompass:Overseeing all daily site activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.Developing and implementing detailed site management plans and construction programmes.Managing and motivating site teams, including direct labour and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.Ensuring strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental policies and legislation.Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits, addressing any issues promptly.Monitoring progress against the project schedule, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions.Managing site resources, including plant, materials, and labour, ensuring efficient utilisation.Liaising with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to resolve site-specific issues and provide progress updates.Maintaining accurate site records, including daily reports, progress charts, and accident reports.Approving work orders and ensuring materials are delivered to site on time and in full.Implementing quality control procedures to ensure all work meets specifications and industry standards.Managing site inductions for new personnel and ensuring ongoing safety training is provided.We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects, such as commercial buildings, residential developments, or infrastructure works. A strong understanding of construction methodologies, building regulations, and health & safety legislation is essential. This role requires a strong leader with excellent organizational skills to manage operations from their base in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK.Responsibilities:Direct and manage the day-to-day operational activities of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity across all project sites.Supervise and mentor project teams, including site managers, foremen, and subcontractors.Oversee resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment.Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on project sites.Manage client relationships and communicate project progress effectively.Conduct regular site inspections and performance reviews.Identify and mitigate potential risks and operational challenges.Contribute to strategic planning and business development initiatives.Qualifications:Proven experience in operations management within the construction industry.Demonstrated success in managing multiple complex construction projects.Strong understanding of construction methodologies, processes, and best practices.Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills.Proficiency in project management software and tools.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction sector.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Must be able to work full-time from our Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK office, with occasional site visits required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
