The post holder is accountable for their department and will:Promote and monitor safe and effective practice, enhance the patient/client experience, provide effective leadership and management, contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives:-- To lead the Difficult asthma service working with a specified group of patients with asthma and taking responsibility for the delivery of the Biologic Severe Asthma Service.- To work closely and liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a co-ordinated approach thus ensuring the delivery of high quality patient care.- To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and evaluation of programmes of care, giving support and advice to patients, families and carers based on best practice.- To act as an expert resource for other nursing and non-nursing staff.- To participate in the development of new services.- To assist in relevant clinical research studies and be responsible for data entry and maintenance of the UK Severe Asthma Registry.Please visit www.jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification. Responsibilities Deliver and maintain individualised patient care to agreed standard. Facilitate and monitor the management of patients prescribed biologic therapy, and liaise with the Asthma team. Co-operate with medical staff to ensure that a high standard of patient care is given. Skills and Qualifications Registered Nurse on Part 1 (Adult) of the NMC Register. Have a Nursing Degree AND 3 years’ post-registration experience working within a Difficult Asthma Service or with patients with complex respiratory needs.
