Employment type: Full‑time – Mid‑Senior level. Overview Within Mace’s consulting practice we deliver strategic programme and project management for a leading UK water company responsible for water and wastewater services across England. This role is based within the client’s Area Delivery Team and will drive the successful delivery of a capital programme, acting as the senior interface between the delivery team and business leadership. The programme aligns with health and safety, operating model and outcome objectives, ensuring regulatory, customer and resilience targets are met. Maintain advanced technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations for project portfolios. Client Focus – Deliver On Our Promise Ensure delivery of key assignments and business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring outcome alignment. Implement programme delivery environments (people, organisation, process, information, technology). Promote and influence quality and service excellence in all programme interactions. Apply and manage appropriate planning/scheduling methods, techniques and tools. Provide expertise in planning/scheduling, project controls methodologies and tools. Advise on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures. Lead and manage the planning/scheduling delivery of medium to high complexity projects/programmes. Analyse trends using numerical and statistical techniques. Lead and develop a team of planning/schedule professionals. Maintain clear, concise written communication and present proposals to client stakeholders. Stay current with industry and professional trends and share insights. Manage assistants and planning managers as required by the scale of the project. Influence client approvals and drive client satisfaction. Negotiate proposals and winning business where necessary. Validate and check schedule management inputs and reporting, providing commentary and analysis. Support senior stakeholders in shaping long‑term strategy for the function or business unit, creating sustainable futures. Required Experience & Qualifications Experience as a Primavera P6 planner on large‑scale civil engineering/infrastructure projects (tier‑1 contractor or client‑side consultancy). Excellent written communication, clarity and concision. In‑depth knowledge of schedule management tools and software. Up‑to‑date with key industry and professional developments. Multi‑industry construction experience. Demonstrated service excellence and problem‑solving capabilities. Strong management skills and talent development. Effective communication and collaborative relationships with client and stakeholder groups. Extensive experience applying planning techniques across multidisciplinary sectors. Degree, preferably in construction or engineering (or equivalent). Digitally savvy and skilled at client relationships. Background in construction or project management, keen to grow career within Mace. Preferred Additional Credentials Membership of professional bodies such as APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA, or similar. Proven success in planning projects and programmes in the consulting sector. Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise. Strong commercial and financial acumen. Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams. Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders. Knowledge of carbon and sustainability considerations shaping project outlook. Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
