Cover Supervisor - Dorset Studio School Dorset Council Responsibilities Support class teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons. Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning. Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Support pupils with additional needs. Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task. Deliver pre‑prepared work and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. Maintain a calm, purposeful learning atmosphere. Provide feedback to class teaching on pupil progress and behaviour. Qualifications & Experience Experience working with children or young people (school‑based experience desirable). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confident, resilient and able to take initiative. Capable of building positive relationships with pupils and staff. Committed to supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. Relevant qualifications (or willing to work towards them). Details Salary: £23,327 – £24,462 per annum (Grade 6, SCP 6‑9). Term Time Only: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. Pro‑rata salary based on hours worked, includes paid annual leave and bank holidays.
