OverviewAs a Waterlink Plumbing Team Leader, you'll be responsible for overseeing our team's daily operations from start to finish. You will guide plumbers through project initiation, planning, and execution to ensure work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards. A key part of this role is to mentor, provide hands-on support and training, and help team members grow and develop their skills. You will monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure every customer interaction is handled professionally with a focus on satisfaction. Main Responsibilities Lead, motivate, develop and appraise Waterlink plumbers to achieve peak performance and meet department needs. Take detailed records of costs, measurements and quality; produce accurate as-built records for completed schemes. Collaborate with Scheduling Team to plan work efficiently and minimise downtime; ensure time is recorded accurately to the correct project. Develop and maintain internal and external contacts to resolve customer problems and liaise with departments to improve knowledge of the business. Ensure the team understands customer needs, manages expectations, and handles queries and complaints. Attend quarterly team briefs and meetings; contribute to targets and support department growth. Manage and lead people in line with HR, Health & Safety and business guidelines, including appraisals, regular 1-2-1s and absence reviews. Ensure field teams follow department processes and policies; take responsibility for proposing solutions when required. Monitor field vehicle and plant condition, reporting issues as needed. Identify new commercial opportunities, providing estimates and quotations for future work; prepare jobs for closure when work is completed. Monitor workloads to avoid backlog and contribute to decisions on contract labour levels and reallocation. Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and best practices; maintain quality, environmental, and Health & Safety standards on every project. Make informed decisions considering customer satisfaction, income, and profit targets. Skills / Qualifications / Experience Strong operational experience and industry knowledge. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, including unsupervised work while supervising others. Level 2 Cities & Guild Plumbing Qualification.
