This appointment is being managed exclusively by Compass Associates on behalf of a highly reputable care organisation, who are seeking to appoint an Operations Director for their Northern region. The remit includes a large number of elderly care homes, supported through a reliable team of Regional Managers and wider regional support functions. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with both scale and strategic influence, delivering high‑quality care and strong commercial outcomes across a portfolio that spans a blend of local authority and private fee markets. Who are we looking for? We’re seeking a credible and experienced senior operational leader who can positively influence culture, quality, and financial performance across a large portfolio. You will be: A visible and people‑focused leader with strong values Skilled in leading through others and developing high‑performing teams Commercially astute with strong P&L accountability Experienced in multi‑home leadership (ideally 15+ homes) Comfortable operating at strategic and transformation level Able to balance local authority relationships with private‑pay growth Resilient, pragmatic and solutions‑focused Passionate about delivering safe, person‑centred care Senior multi‑site leadership experience within adult social care Proven track record of driving performance across a large region or portfolio Financial and commercial acumen with strong budget accountability Strong understanding of governance, safety, and regulatory frameworks Experience of improving occupancy, culture and workforce retention Location This role covers the North region. It is commutable from, but not limited to: Manchester, Newcastle upon Tyne, Preston, Liverpool, York, Leeds, Sheffield, Crewe, Southport, Wigan, St Helens, Greater Manchester, Barnsley, Doncaster, Wakefield, Harrogate, Sunderland, Durham.
