SEN Teaching Assistant – Salisbury – Full-Time

Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive? We’re looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Salisbury, supporting pupils aged 4 to 19 with a range of needs.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis within the classroom.

Assist children with learning, communication, and emotional regulation.

Help implement personalised learning and behaviour plans.

Provide personal care and mobility support when required (training provided).

Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.

Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff alike.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should:

Be patient, calm, and empathetic.

Be open to learning and passionate about supporting young people.

Be comfortable working with pupils who have additional or complex needs.

Be willing to assist with personal care and moving & handling.

Be able to build rapport and help pupils feel safe and supported.

Experience in education, care, or SEN settings is beneficial but not essential — your attitude, commitment, and willingness to learn are what matter most.
A driving licence is desirable due to the school’s location.
