6 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsThe Additive Manufacturing technician will be part of skilled production team working to produce high-quality large- pressure vessels with DED-arc additive manufacturing equipment. This role involves work in a dynamic production environment, following operational procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.ResponsibilitiesPrepare machines for builds, carry out calibrations and conduct routine maintenance, resolve machine build issues, and support the engineering team to recover build failures to minimise scrapEnsure machine parameters meet part production specifications prior to manufacturingOperate and monitor machines performance during the manufacturing process to ensure key parameters are maintainedIdentify and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during the printing process and inform the AM SupervisorConduct regular quality checks on the printed parts to ensure surface quality and dimensional accuracy before dispatch to the next operationFollow established quality control procedures to ensure the manufactured parts meet specifications and quality standardsDocument and report any deviations or non-conformities in the manufacturing process or finished productsEvaluate the assigned schedule and where potential delays are foreseen, ensure timely communication to shift lead(s), supporting alternative plans that minimise the effect on deliveryCollaborate with the maintenance team or equipment suppliers for complex repairs or maintenance tasksWorking to standard operating procedures whilst maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards within the workplaceAdhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and colleaguesSupport and encourage team working across the shift and shift patternsWork efficiently within manufacturing as part of an established teamActively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency. Providing feedback and suggestions for process improvements to the AM Supervisor and engineering teamRequirementsCore GCSE's or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in manufacturing or a related field is a plusMinimum of 3 years relevant work experience in engineering, with a focus on production and manufacturingKnowledge of various additive manufacturing technologies such as DED-arc/laser and post processing techniques such as machining and NDTStrong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise instructions and proceduresAbility to identify and troubleshoot minor technical issues independentlyEffective communication and collaboration skills to work well within a team-oriented environmentPreferred Skills And ExperienceCertification in additive manufacturing technologies or welding processesExperience with ERP systems and manufacturing software for production planning and inventory managementKnowledge of quality control principles and practices in manufacturingPrior experience in additive manufacturing or a similar production environmentFamiliarity with regulatory requirements and standards relevant to industry related manufacturing (e.g., ASME, ISO, DNV)Strong MS Office skillsBenefitsSalary – £35,000 per annumBonus – Performance related bonus schemePension – 9% employer contribution with an optional employee contributionAnnual Leave – 25 days, plus statutory holidaysWorking Hours – Shift work 4 days on 4 days off, 11.5 hours per shift (mixture of day and night shifts)Lunch – Free lunch and breakfast provided onsite alongside snacksAt DEEP, we celebrate and embrace diversity and inclusion and strongly believe that the best innovations come from diverse perspectives.
