SEN Teacher Assistants

Our client, a reputable educational institution in Torquay, Borough of Torbay, is seeking dedicated and compassionate Part-time SEN Teacher Assistants to join their supportive team. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to thrive in their learning environment. The position offers a competitive salary range of £105 to £115 per day, depending on experience and qualifications. As a Part-time SEN Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff to develop and implement tailored learning plans for students with diverse needs. Your primary responsibility will be to foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth. You will assist in adapting lesson materials, providing one-on-one support, and facilitating small group activities to ensure that each student receives the attention and assistance they require to achieve their full potential. The ideal candidates will possess a genuine passion for working with children and a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with special educational needs. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be interacting with students, parents, and colleagues on a regular basis. To be considered for this position, you should have relevant qualifications and experience in supporting students with special educational needs. A background in education, psychology, or a related field is highly desirable. Responsibilities Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs. Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students, ensuring they remain engaged and motivated in their learning. Assist in adapting lesson materials and resources to meet the specific needs of individual students. Facilitate small group activities and discussions to promote social interaction and collaborative learning. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of their achievements and challenges. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special educational needs support.
