We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP New Hall, a female prison and young offenders institution (YOI) in Flockton, West Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment. Please note that this is a clinical role, and we need candidates that are competent in skills such as Venepuncture, ECGs, NEWS2 etc. Hours: This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week. We deliver healthcare 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, so shifts will include days and nights. You will typically work one week of nights per month (3 shifts in that week), and around 2 weekends per month. What you'll be doing As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include: Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times Carry out bloods, obs, ECGs etc Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods etc Respond to emergency situations as needed Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics Qualifications If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.
