OverviewService Care Legal are working with a local authority in Essex who are seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Lawyer to manage a busy caseload and support its Legal Services team. Please find below further details about this role.RoleHousing Disrepair LawyerLocationEssex (onsite at least 1 day per week)Contract36 hours per week, 6-month TemporaryRate£55.00ph umbrella / £48.46ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £42.24ph PAYE (exc. holiday pay)OverviewYou will handle around 90 housing disrepair cases at varying stages, provide legal advice across the organisation, draft legal documents, negotiate settlements, and represent the authority at preliminary court hearings. The role also involves working with surveyors and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently and supporting the development of junior staff.Key RequirementsQualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with housing litigation experienceExperience of working within a local authority would be highly desirable.Strong knowledge of housing disrepair and civil procedureConfident managing a high-volume caseload and attending courtApplicationIf this opportunity is of interest, please reach out to Lloyd Stanley on (phone number removed) or email across an updated CV to (url removed).
