Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), especially those experiencing Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD)? Our client, a leading specialist provider of primary education, is seeking a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing foundation phase setting in Port Talbot. This vital role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners requiring extra support. Key Responsibilities: Provide focused, one-to-one, and small group support to help pupils manage emotions, develop coping strategies, and self-regulate behaviour to access the curriculum successfully. Collaborate closely with the Class Teacher and the school's ALN Coordinator (ALNCo) to implement and adapt Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) and behaviour management strategies. Create a stable, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that encourages positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and academic progress for pupils who need additional support. Support the development of learners' social skills and emotional resilience through tailored interventions. Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to the teaching team to adapt approaches as needed. Requirements: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally supporting pupils within ALN and SEBD settings. Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Behaviour Management strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to student wellbeing. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff. Relevant qualifications or training related to SEN or behaviour support (desirable).
