Textile & Dye Technician

Overview We are seeking a Textile & Dye Technician with hands-on experience working with a wide range of fabrics, including synthetics and blends, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of natural dyeing techniques to join our creative and sustainability-focused team. Key Responsibilities Develop and apply natural dye processes to a variety of fabrics, including synthetic and mixed fibres. Carry out research and experimentation to expand our dye palette, improve colourfastness, and explore innovative techniques. Collaborate to create colour stories and effects for bespoke pieces and reworked garments. Document processes, results, and recipes to maintain consistency and reproducibility. Assist with fabric preparation, finishing, and integration into the final garment or accessory. What we’re looking for Able to make occasional trips to the studio in Wakefield (when required) Proven experience in natural dyeing Ability to work confidently on a range of fabric types beyond purely natural fibres. Strong understanding of dye extraction and fixing methods suitable for different materials. Excellent attention to detail and colour accuracy. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small, fast-paced studio environment. Commitment to sustainability and ethical making practices.
