Senior Hydrogeologist (Flexible across all locations in UK) We are looking for an experienced hydrogeologist to join our Water Management Consultancy groundwater resources team in delivering a growing portfolio of projects. Overview This position is open for our Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Epsom, Glasgow, London, Oxford, Peterborough and Manchester offices but we can be flexible with location. As a senior hydrogeologist, you will have led and delivered groundwater related project tasks in the UK and/or internationally, working closely with technical specialists across our teams. Your Role You will work with our hydrogeologist technical leads and other technical disciplines in winning, delivering and managing our portfolio of groundwater projects and developing trusted client relationships. You will champion high standards of performance, influencing project development and ensuring accuracy and quality of work. You will undertake and delegate complex problem solving, including data gathering and processing, calculations and modelling, conceptualisation, reporting, proposal writing and costing. You will collaborate with and mentor junior staff, reviewing work and providing support. You will work with other technical disciplines in the Water Management Consultancy team on projects relating to water supply, strategic planning, resource optimisation and environmental assessment. About You Degree in science, engineering or mathematics with a post‑graduate qualification in hydrogeology or a related subject; chartered through a relevant professional body. Demonstrable experience as a hydrogeologist within consultancy, water company, regulator or academic fields. Experience in water resources hydrogeology and hydrology, e.g. National Environment Programme investigations, pumping tests, borehole design, groundwater flooding or water resource planning. Good understanding of UK hydrogeology and the operational and environmental regulatory framework of UK water management. Experience leading project tasks or entire projects through problem definition, data collection, analysis, interpretation and recommendations. Evidence of developing new and innovative approaches. Excellent numerical, analytical, report‑writing and presentational skills with an eye for detail. Highly motivated, proactive and enjoys solving challenging water resources problems within a high‑achieving team. Effective communication at all levels to support collaborative working and client relationships. Valid full UK driving licence.
