Maintenance Electrical Facilities TechnicianTesco Northampton, England, United KingdomTesco are currently looking to recruit a DC Technician at their most strategic Distribution center that couldn’t function without the support of our Maintenance Team. A DC Technician is an integral part of this team, carrying out maintenance procedures safely around the site and working closely with the Site Leadership Teams. Technicians deliver statutory requirements and proactive planned maintenance promptly and in a cost‑effective way ensuring the business can continue to serve Britain’s shoppers a little better every day.About the roleThe Technician will be responsible for maintaining facilities and equipment, ensuring safe operation of the site, and meeting all regulatory and company standards.You will be responsible forEnsuring a safe environment for those who work at Tesco. Taking ownership of the reactive and proactive maintenance activity, identifying problems and implementing effective solutions.Carrying out daily maintenance including but not limited to fire alarm testing, sprinkler testing, HVAC maintenance, building maintenance, electrical checks.Building effective relationships with leadership teams, communicating clearly on tasks and managing expectations where necessary.Ensuring assets are fixed in line with the agreed SLAs.Using the systems available to accurately record work completed and describing work which needs to be escalated.Working closely with internal service teams and external contractors.Meeting the necessary legal and compliance standards.Attending meetings to ensure there is an understanding of maintenance issues and their level of urgency.Being aware of the cost implications and ensuring the most effective and efficient fix.Overseeing and being a lead point of contact for all contractors on site for engineering and facilities within the DC, completing permit to works and reviewing completed jobs by the contractors to ensure they meet the correct standard.Actioning H&S next steps required to be compliant on site.Ideal CandidateFacilities and/or engineering experienceGood time managementThe ability to build relationships quicklyGood communication skillsAn awareness of cost and budget controlsAn awareness of up‑to‑date Health and Safety measuresManagement of a team.Contractor Control.Stakeholder management.What's in it for you?Request flexible working from day one10% off and 15% at pay day weekends – save up to £2,000 a year with your Colleague Clubcard with an additional card to share with family outside your homeAccess to free wellbeing services with a range of resources to support your mind, body, and lifeLife cover of five times your pay and an award‑winning pension with matching contributions up to 7.5%Benefits to suit you – choose what you use, from discounts and shares to cycle to work schemesUniform provided and policies to support you for all of life’s moments, big and smallAbout UsAt Tesco Property – Maintenance it’s our people that make us one of the leading retail maintenance providers in the UK.
