As a Caretaker at RBKC, you’ll play a vital role in looking after our estates, ensuring they’re well maintained and safe for the people who live there. Working Style You’ll be based in the Borough 18 hours a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives. What You’ll Be Doing Keep communal areas clean and tidy. Carry out regular inspections, reporting and resolving issues. Ensure buildings remain safe and well looked after, removing hazards and addressing risks to residents. Work independently across one or more sites, taking ownership of day‑to‑day tasks and escalating when extra support is needed. Use technology to complete checks and record work, with support available when needed. Receive hands‑on experience and in‑house courses (e.g., BICS training) to build confidence in your role. What You’ll Bring No formal qualifications required – focus is on being active, reliable and taking pride in a job well done. Physically capable of manual work (lifting, bending, moving items) and happy to be on your feet throughout the day. Enjoy working with people – friendly, calm and respectful, always prioritising safety and care.
