About The Role We are looking for an inspirational Maths teacher to join the Education Support for Medical Absence (ESMA) Teaching Service, who can deliver outstanding teaching to some of the County’s most vulnerable students. The role involves a combination of face-to-face and online teaching as well as continued pastoral support for a group of students. We are looking for an excellent communicator who also believes in the importance of pastoral care and support. The current timetable (subject to change) for ESMA teachers is structured with teaching from 9.00am - 11.00am, followed by a break, and then a second teaching slot from 11.30am – 1.30pm. This could include a mixture of face-to-face and online teaching, or all face-to-face or all online. When not delivering lessons, teachers work on their pastoral responsibilities, which include holding Planning and Review reintegration meetings with families, students, schools, and health professionals, with their allocated students. The purpose of these regular meetings is to ensure that the student has the appropriate access to education, considering their medical need, and has a plan to reintegrate into school. About You Essential: Educated to degree level and hold Qualified Teacher Status. Minimum five years relevant and successful teaching experience. Recent classroom experience and practice knowledge for the subject specialism (Maths). Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of relevant high-quality teaching and learning. Desirable: An understanding of working with children with medical needs (physical and mental). This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding teacher of Maths to join a team dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes for students who are too ill to attend school.
