Purpose of Job The Associate Banker in Debt Mobilisation Product Development supports the Debt Mobilisation team in developing new ways to mobilise predominantly private co‑financing alongside EBRDs operations. The role contributes to the development of new products and actions designed to mobilise new types of investors, including enhancing reporting, communication and investor education initiatives. Internally it supports the required cultural change around mobilisation and assists in coordinating the infrastructure needed for these efforts. The role reports to the AD Head Debt Mobilisation Product Development. Background The Debt Mobilisation team supports the delivery of the EBRD mandate of significantly expanding mobilisation efforts. The team is split into Sales & Advisory and Product Development, which also handles strategy development. The team is part of the Finance group. The EBRDs ambition for the 2026‑2030 SCF period is to boost mobilisation of private‑sector capital directly and indirectly through innovation in processes and products, enhanced incentives and a higher ambition to establish a floor for private‑sector Annual Mobilised Investment (AMI) of 5 billion, ensuring most mobilised amounts are in the green space. The Associate Banker provides material support to the delivery of the team’s strategy and is responsible for: New primarily debt mobilisation product development to meet investor expectations for risk‑return and impact. Interaction with external stakeholders on mobilisation initiatives such as blended finance, programmatic co‑financing solutions, cooperation initiatives and joint MDB reporting. Interaction with internal stakeholders on mobilisation topics such as Board reporting, development of AMI definitions, scorecard adjustments and measurement tools. Developing a toolkit to enhance investor awareness and knowledge through data, marketing and investor communication, focusing on capturing and reporting climate mobilisation. Pro‑actively developing the Bank’s competencies with support from team members. Accountabilities & Responsibilities New product development Contribute to certain stages of new product development, ensuring products meet agreed internal and external requirements. Conduct relevant product and market analysis, perform due diligence and structuring work, and report on findings. Build and maintain internal and external working relationships that enable effective product delivery and investor interest. New mobilisation initiatives Support senior team members by engaging with other MDBs, external stakeholders and investors on agreed topics and initiatives with a private mobilisation component. Pro‑actively follow up on work related to data needs, joint reporting, programmatic co‑financing solutions and blended finance initiatives that advance the Bank’s mobilisation mandate. Mobilisation metrics enabling factors and cultural alignment Assist in coordinating internal stakeholders on the preparation of data‑based integrated marketing material for new private investors, including financial performance, climate reporting and impact standards. Additional responsibilities Contribute to the preparation of all internal approvals and related material required for the above areas. Support business development opportunities to attract new private investors. Attend industry and mobilisation‑related events, conferences, meetings with government authorities, investors, organisations and business communities to advance the Bank’s mobilisation mandate. Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications Qualifications and Skills Relevant university degree or equivalent experience. Credit analysis skills with the ability to interpret accounts and apply accounting principles. Strong quantitative and numerical skills with experience designing and using financial models. Sound decision‑making skills, proven business judgement and high ethical and professional standards. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Ideally fluency in another major language in addition to English. Ideally prior experience in EBRDs countries of operations. Experience & Knowledge Awareness of the development finance agenda, particularly private capital mobilisation, climate finance and blended finance. Curiosity about wider MDB activities and initiatives, particularly within mobilisation. Familiarity with the investor universe and EBRD’s co‑financing engagements. Experience or knowledge of MDB co‑financing activities, including syndicated loans, leveraged and/or project finance, climate finance, structured products, credit asset management and insurance. Banking or similar experience with a good understanding of financial structures and financial statement interpretation. Experience driving initiatives through an institution to achieve formal support and approval. Relevant financial industry experience from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm or auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards. Knowledge and experience in debt products, including syndicated loans, leveraged and/or project finance, climate finance, structured products, credit asset management or insurance.
