Complex Needs Continence Clinical Nurse Specialist

OverviewWe are seeking to recruit a dynamic and innovative Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Complex Needs Continence Team. This fixed‑term role has been created to transform and extend the existing service, offering children and young people aged 2–5 years access to specialist continence and toileting support. A secondment into this post will be considered for the successful applicant, and there is potential for recurrent funding to create a permanent position.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist continence and toileting service for children and young people requiring support within the community, ensuring that children and families receive the highest standard of holistic care.Act as a resource for expert advice for other healthcare professionals and deliver health promotion and education to parents, families and other professionals.Work alongside a lead specialist to provide specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients.Contribute to the ongoing development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, protocols and guidelines and collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues.Ensure the safety and well‑being of service users and promote dignity and human rights through person‑centred care principles.Support nurse‑led clinics, training and the delivery of health promotion and toileting advice to children and young people with complex needs wherever possible to achieve their potential.QualificationsExperience as a Community Nursing Specialist or similar role with expertise in continence and toileting support for children and young people.Excellent communication skills, clinical skills and a desire to maintain and role‑model a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.Competent to deliver health promotion and education to parents, families and others.BenefitsBand 6, flexible working and a supportive, inclusive environment committed to equality and diversity.
