Job Title : SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) Location : Wakefield Pay Rate : £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience) Start Date : Immediate Contract Type : Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time Are you an understanding and motivated individual eager to nurture and guide pupils with special educational needs in every area of their development? GSL Education are currently seeking a nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Wakefield . This role is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support, help pupils overcome barriers to learning, and make a real difference in their educational journey. Role Overview : As an SEN TA , you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs. You will provide one-to‑one or small group support, adapt learning activities, and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will : Support pupils with special educational needs in their academic, social, and emotional development. Provide one-to‑one or group support tailored to individual learning needs. Help adapt lesson materials to ensure accessibility for all learners. Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning. Assist with personal care needs where required. Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant Experience working with children with special educational needs (in school or similar settings). A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
