Can you provide examples of EC&I design projects you’ve delivered across the full lifecycle—from concept through commissioning?
How do you ensure compliance with UK standards (IEC, BS, ATEX) while managing complex EC&I engineering tasks?

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Design Engineer to support the Principal EC&I Engineer in delivering design projects or lead smaller EC&I tasks with the support of other engineers. You will work across the full project lifecycle—from concept design through to manufacture and commissioning.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Deliver EC&I design packages and project deliverables across all lifecycle stages.
Produce EC&I design documents and drawings in line with relevant standards and procedures.
Coordinate, plan, and manage design activities to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
Liaise confidently with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities as required.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Control Engineering (or similar discipline).
Strong ability to solve challenging technical problems independently.
Excellent organisational skills for managing your own workload and supporting others.
Familiarity with:
AMTECH ProDesign or similar cable calculation software.
AutoCAD design tools.
BIM-enabled projects.
Experience interfacing with other technical disciplines.
Previous experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., nuclear, energy, or similar sectors).
Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to obtain SC clearance.
It’s great if you also have the following
Experience in hazardous area design and functional safety.
Knowledge of UK and international standards (IEC 61508/61511, BS 7671, ATEX).
