Maintain high standards of infection control and ensure surgeries are prepared and cleaned efficiently. Support the delivery of emergency and routine care, including special care and paediatric sessions. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care both in‑practice and, when required, through community and outreach programmes. Engage with patients compassionately, helping to reduce anxiety and ensure they feel welcomed and supported. Enthusiasm for Smile Togethers mission of improving oral health and reducing inequalities across Cornwall.Why Join Us? were more than just a dental practice, were proud to be the UKs first dental practice to be B Corp certified a Community Interest Company (CIC) proud to be employee‑owned, giving our team a voice within the business, this means were committed to doing business differently for the benefit of our people, the communities we serve, and our planet.GDC registration without conditionsJob responsibilitiesJob Summary: To ensure the efficient day‑to‑day running of the dental practice and to work closely with the whole team to ensure that Smile Together provides timely, accessible, quality dental care to its patients.When dental nursing the post holder will be expected to deliver a high standard of clinical support to our dentists and therapists and play an integral role in the company as a whole.The post holder will be required to provide a reliable, efficient and timely front of house service to ensure Smile Together exceeds patient expectations at every visit and provides a first‑class patient experience.Travel to provide cover at other clinical locations within Smile Together will be required on occasions.Key accountabilities:Assist the dentist during clinical procedures and make independent judgments with regard to equipment, instruments and materialsProvide comprehensive reception cover when required including answering the telephone, booking appointments and welcoming patients to the practice ensuring accurate inputting of data into the practice system and maintaining patient confidentiality at all timesRecognise and demonstrate understanding of the different journey a patient will experience depending on their treatment needs and the service being provided to themAssist in the provision of a mentoring programme to support Foundation Dental Nurses to expand their clinical skillsParticipate in the selection of, interview and onboarding of Trainee Dental NursesRecognise and assist with any medical emergenciesProvide clinical support for clinicians within a surgery setting, and give appropriate pre‑treatment and post‑treatment advice to patientsEnsure high standards of patient care are maintained at all timesProvide support and reassurance to patients undergoing dental proceduresMonitor and maintain stock control with due regard to efficient use of resourcesAccurately record patient data, filing and archiving patient recordsA working knowledge of HTM 01‑05 document and Infection Control proceduresActively engage with Smile Together teams and participate in audit activities, planning and development sessions, and in‑house meetings etcBe responsible for safe working and practice on a day‑to‑day basis in sites of clinical activity, ensuring compliance with clinical governance and legislation, appropriate health, safety and security procedures within the work area, and reporting accidents, incidents and near misses using the Smile Together incident reporting procedureUndertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Practice Managers and Smile Together Management TeamHold full GDC registration without conditionsPlay a valuable part in contributing to the success of the organisationBe an ambassador for the companys vision, mission and values and demonstrate related behavioursTo professionally represent Smile Together as an ambassador for the company in this role, leading by exampleMaintain and develop your clinical competency and continuing professional/personal development according to agreed training needs via our Smile Together Training Academy and Perform (appraisal and review system)Work alongside clinical and professional support colleagues in service improvement and facilitate ongoing organisational change and developmentPerson SpecificationQualificationsNEBDN National Certificate in Dental Nursing, NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing (DN) or equivilentFull registration with the General Dental CouncilExperienceCompetency in the common aspects of dental nursing and experience of a wide range of dental procedures acquired through training and clinical experienceTrained to recognise and respond to medical emergencies (i.e. Immediate Life Support Techniques)Experience of mentoring newly qualified Dental Nurses and or student Dental NursesExperience in the recruitment of Dental NursesDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.£26,500 to £29,500 a yearThis is dependent on Additional Qualifications #J-18808-Ljbffr
