Community Mental Health Nurse - Shrewsbury East CMHS Closing date: 15 December 2025. We have an exciting opportunity in East Shrewsbury Community Mental Health Service for a caring and compassionate Mental Health Nurse. We care for people who experience a wide range of mental health issues in Shrewsbury offering assessments, treatment, and interventions. Our multi‑disciplinary team approach is essential in formulating and providing high quality, safe and effective care, whilst ensuring our service users and families have a positive experience whilst under our care. We are seeking a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse to care for an identified group of service users. Experience would be preferred but we also want to gain experience in all functions of the team. We would like to appoint someone who has a real passion for working with service users in the community. The community mental health service works in partnership with other local organisations. Clinicians within the community mental health service will offer interventions and treatments which are concordant with NICE guidelines, and allocation within the team will be based on the needs of the service user, matching clinician skills to service user needs. You will, in conjunction with the multi‑disciplinary team, provide nursing interventions to support the person to meet their agreed goals and coordinate and/or participate in the review of progress towards those goals, utilising recommended outcome measures. Main duties of the job We offer a preceptorship programme to newly qualified staff; and would work with individuals coming into our team to ensure a personalised induction programme. Person Specification Qualifications Registered Mental Health Nurse and active on NMC Register. Psychological intervention Qualification including EMDR, CBT, CBTp, Family Interventions, CAT, DBT Phlebotomy training Experience Experience of working with people experiencing mental health related difficulties. Experience of working with people who have difficulty in engaging with services and have complex mental health needs. Experience of assessing, planning, coordinating and managing people with mental health problems in a community setting.
