Digital and Data Officer

Job Summary The Digital and Data Officer will support the digital and transformation lead in delivering digital implementation, social media, web and data quality initiatives across the 13 GP practices of Greater Derby and Oakdale Park PCNs and their collaborative Partners. The role will also include responsibility for supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of systems configuration, cloud based reporting and data analysis to support the operational clinical delivery arm of Primary Healthcare Derby. We will develop the successful candidate in accessing the tools, training, and support to adopt digital solutions, maintain high data standards, and comply with NHS information governance requirements. The post holder will act as a first point of contact for digital and data queries, supporting clinical and administrative teams to optimise systems and improve patient access. Key Responsibilities Digital Support & Implementation Provide first‑line support for clinical systems and applications (e.g. SystmOne, AccuRx) to the clinical team at Primary Healthcare Derby Assist the Digital and Transformation Lead with configuration and deployment of IT equipment, mobile devices and software Support practices in implementing national digital priorities (e.g. patient online access, NHS App uptake) Data Quality & Reporting Monitor and improve data quality across clinical systems, ensuring compliance with coding standards and templates Run searches and produce reports for QOF, Enhanced Services, neighbourhood collaborative working and population health management Support audits and data validation processes Ensure the SystmOne Clinical Unit is kept up to date Training & Engagement Deliver basic digital skills training and support for Primary Healthcare Derby’s staff and workforce Partners Governance & Compliance Ensure adherence to GDPR, NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit, and local information governance policies Maintain accurate documentation of data flows and digital assets Key Working Relationships Internal stakeholders: Digital & Transformation Lead, Operations Manager, Clinical Director, GPs/Clinicians, Public Health, Hospital / Community nurses & therapists, Clinical Nurse Specialists & Community Matrons, Local Navigation Hub, Care coordinator, Pharamacists and pharmacy technicians, Support staff External stakeholders: Primary Care, Local acute NHS Trusts, Mental Healthcare providers, Social Care, Local and national voluntary and charitable agencies Person Specification – Experience (Essential) Working with IT systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Handling data accurately and securely Providing user support or troubleshooting Person Specification – Desirable Experience in a healthcare or NHS setting Data quality improvement projects Delivering digital skills training Person Specification – Personal qualities (Essential) Polite and confident Flexible and cooperative Motivated Forward thinker High levels of integrity and loyalty Ability to work under pressure Person Specification – Skills (Essential) Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Good IT skills Clear, polite telephone manner Good knowledge of MS Office and Outlook SystmOne Experience Effective time management (planning and organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Good interpersonal skills Problem solving and analytical skills Ability to follow policy and procedure Ability to analyse data and produce reports Person Specification – Qualifications (Essential) GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths IT‑related qualification or demonstrable experience Person Specification – Other Requirements (Essential) Flexibility to work outside of core office hours Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check Access to own transport and ability to travel across the locality on a regular basis, including to visit people in their own home For more information, please contact jools.roome@nhs.net. #J-18808-Ljbffr
