Systems Engineer in Actuation Systems Centre of Excellence

Bolton Join MBDA's Actuation Systems Centre of Excellence as a Systems Engineer and play a key role in developing advanced actuation technologies for next‑generation defence systems. The opportunity: We invite you to join the Actuation Systems Centre of Excellence as a Systems Engineer. The Centre of Excellence specialises in the design and development of electro‑mechanical actuation systems that provide closed‑loop control of fins to steer missiles during flight. In this role, you will be part of a multi‑disciplined team developing actuation systems across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept to qualification. You will collaborate with the engineers at missile level to ensure the actuation system meets the needs of the missile. You will work with various engineering disciplines within the Centre of Excellence to understand the functional architecture and relevant requirements for the electronics, mechanical and software domains. Depending on your experience, there are opportunities to take on this role as a support Systems Engineer or a lead Systems Engineer. What we’re looking for from you: Ideally degree qualified in a relevant field with proven post‑graduation experience. Systems Engineer experience in modern Systems Engineering methods and tools. Experience in specifying, reviewing and managing requirements. Eagerness to enhance your skills in emerging Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering concepts. Strong team spirit to collaborate within a dynamic, multi‑disciplined team. Experience in IBM DOORS and Model Based Systems Engineering is beneficial. Experience in safety‑related systems or actuation systems is beneficial. Systems Lead experience is beneficial. Experience across different phases of the Systems Engineering lifecycle is beneficial.
