Key Responsibilities Assisting with the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo‑environmental ground investigations. Undertaking desk‑top study assessments. Accurate collection, analysis and interpretation of site data. Producing detailed reports. Undertaking ground gas & groundwater monitoring works and assessment. Qualifications and Skills 3–5 years' experience in a similar role. A degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science or a related subject. Strong analytical, written, communication and presentation skills. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work independently, using initiative. Full Driving Licence (manual). Experience and confidence in managing and supervising ground investigation on site, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring, and the skill to interpret data. Site‑works accreditations/qualifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, 1st aid, etc. are an advantage. Knowledgeable of current practice and governing standards/guidance for the investigation and remediation of contaminated land, and able to produce Phase 1 geo‑environmental desk‑top study reports with preliminary risk assessment and Phase 2 interpretative reports with qualitative and generic quantitative risk assessments. Good understanding of health, safety and environmental management. Key Attributes Sound technical knowledge, enthusiasm, self‑motivation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will require approximately 60 % site‑based work (typically London and the SE but occasionally further afield nationally and internationally) and 40 % office‑based work, subject to workload.
