Postperson with Driving - Royal Mail Job reference: 328166 Location: Ipswich Delivery Office, IP1 1AA Job type: Permanent contract Hours: 37.0 hours per week, 4 days (Wednesday – Saturday) between 07:15 and 15:15 About the role We are reinventing Royal Mail for the future and need enthusiastic, reliable Postpersons with driving licence to deliver each year billions of parcels and documents across the community. The role requires a full UK manual driving licence and a commitment to serving customers with pride. Key responsibilities • Deliver posts and parcels to customers in a timely and professional manner. • Operate delivery vehicles safely, maintaining suitability for local routes. • Represent Royal Mail in the community, providing friendly and helpful customer service. • Maintain delivery area‑specific knowledge and support local small businesses. Qualifications and attributes Upbeat, independent and self‑motivated. Organised, punctual and ready to deliver great customer service. A people‑person with a friendly face in the community. Excellent stamina – happy walking for long periods and working outside in any weather. Strong sense of community and takes pride in what you do. Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points. Benefits and remuneration Guaranteed hourly rate of £13.06 per hour, paid monthly and adjusted to your working hours. Paid overtime, with an enhanced rate of 1.25× for hours worked over 40 per week. 22.5 days holiday, rising with length of service (adjusted to working hours if below 40) and option to buy extra leave each year.
