Role Overview We are recruiting Band 6 Occupational Therapists for a 9‑month rotational post across Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT). The role offers a diverse range of clinical areas and the opportunity to work within a supportive and multidisciplinary team. Rotation Sites & Specialities Winchester (Royal Hampshire County Hospital) – Front Door (Emergency Department & Acute Assessment Unit), Medicine, Coronary Care, Oncology & Gynaecology, Surgery, Long Term Conditions & Elderly Care, In‑patient rehabilitation (Kingfisher Ward), New Therapy Supported Discharge outreach team. Basingstoke (Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital) – Front Door, Medicine, Coronary Care, Oncology & Gynaecology, Surgery, Long Term Conditions & Elderly Care. Andover (All Saints’ Hospital) – In‑patient rehabilitation (Kingfisher Ward). Key Responsibilities Provide early acute inpatient rehabilitation, assessing patients’ current needs and implementing ongoing acute therapy interventions. Lead on discharge planning from the hospital setting, ensuring the plan meets patients’ holistic needs. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Practitioners and Therapy Assistants. Provide clinical support and guidance to junior therapists, physiotherapists and therapy assistants, including Band 5, Band 4 and Band 3 staff, as well as therapy students from partner universities. Supervise therapy colleagues and contribute to service improvement projects. Maintain robust peer support and receive regular formal supervision and clinical supervision from a Band 7 therapist. Participate in a 7‑day service operating from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, including bank holidays; commit to working 50% of bank holidays and one weekend per month as part of the OT weekend rota. Essential Requirements Licensed Band 6 Occupational Therapist with relevant clinical experience in an acute setting. Excellent communication and patient‑care skills. Experience in acute rehabilitation and complex discharge planning from a therapy perspective. Manual driving licence or access to a vehicle with business insurance (or medical exemption). Willingness to work cross‑site rotations (Winchester, Basingstoke, Andover). Professional Development HHFT focuses on supporting staff with a strong supervision structure, peer support and opportunities for leadership in service improvement and research. Location and Logistics Basingstoke: 50 miles from London and 30 miles from the south‑coast, accessible via M3 and public transport.
