Resource Base Teacher, KS2 Social, Emotional Mental HealthFull-Time Tradewind Recruitment are supporting a welcoming and well‑resourced mainstream Primary School in Runcorn who are seeking a dedicated Resource Base Teacher to work with a small group of pupils with SEMH needs. This is a full‑time role starting January and continuing until July 2026. This setting is described as not your typical Resource Base – the students are polite, engaging and far from challenging, with behaviour often less demanding than some mainstream classes. You will be joining a strong, supportive team who know the children exceptionally well. About the Role Working with 8 KS2 pupils in the Resource Base Supporting 2 KS1 pupils (1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon) Delivering group work throughout the day, based on ability Reduced planning and preparation workload – no heavy homework expectations Close collaboration with highly experienced TAs who know each student "to a tee" Creating a calm, nurturing and structured learning environment Supporting emotional regulation, social development and academic progress Why This Role Stands Out A genuinely supportive staff team around you Experienced TAs who will help with routines, behaviour and learning needs A settled group of pupils with no extreme behaviours A manageable workload with less planning than a standard class teacher role Opportunity to make a tangible impact in a specialist provision within a mainstream school The School Are Looking For A caring, resilient and enthusiastic teacher Experience or interest in SEMH needs Strong relationship‑building skills Someone who can work collaboratively with experienced support staff A teacher who can provide structure, consistency and patience Requirements to Work with Tradewind QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Right to work in the UK If you'’re an experienced Resource Base Teacher or SEMH Teacher, this could be the perfect role for you.
