About the Job This role plays a pivotal part in enhancing the internal control environment to align with SOx standards. Acting as a key figure within the finance team, the Financial Controls Specialist will focus on addressing control deficiencies, improving financial reporting processes, and supporting audit readiness across the UK&I business. Duties will include: Executing remediation plans for SOx control weaknesses across financial operations Redesigning and implementing robust financial controls in partnership with process owners Reviewing and updating process documentation (e.g. flowcharts, narratives, RCMs) Conducting control design and operating effectiveness testing Liaising with internal and external auditors and ensuring audit readiness Supporting compliance efforts with COSO and US GAAP frameworks Promoting awareness of financial control standards through training initiatives Driving continuous improvements and enhancing efficiency across finance processes Assisting in the rollout of digital tools to improve visibility and reporting About the Successful Applicant You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with proven experience in SOx compliance or working within a strong internal control environment. You’ll possess strong technical knowledge of SOX 404, COSO, and ICFR principles, along with excellent documentation and testing skills. A background in financial services is desirable, and you will demonstrate strong communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery capabilities.
