Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Transplantation and Organ Retieival Join to apply for the Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Transplantation and Organ Retieival role at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow in Transplantation & Organ Retrieval. This fixed‑term post, based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, is part of the Department of Renal and Pancreas Transplantation, the largest unit in the country. The role supports general surgery and transplantation services and offers exposure to renal and pancreatic transplantation, vascular access surgery, organ retrieval (NORS) and general surgery. Key responsibilities include: Support the large clinical service in General Surgery and Transplantation, providing care for both adults and children. Gain experience in renal and pancreatic transplantation, renal‑related surgery, and multi‑organ retrieval. Participate fully in a rota at registrar level, including scheduled emergency lists and elective opportunities. Play an integral role in the Manchester organ retrieval team, working closely with the Clinical Director and with colleagues across nephrology. Work with general and endocrine surgery teams and contribute to the National Organ Retrieval Service. Provide support in vascular access surgery and other aspects of general surgery. Be accountable for clinical duties while not providing extensive experience in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. While the appointment is not recognised for postgraduate training, it offers excellent exposure to elective and emergency surgery and ample opportunities to develop skills.
