Job Title Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner – Eating Disorders Employer National Health Service (NHS) North East London – Kent & Medway All Age Eating Disorders Service Overview This role supports a multidisciplinary, all-age specialist Community Eating Disorder team delivering NICE-concordant assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults and young people with Eating Disorders, including Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID, etc. The service has added Enhanced Care, First‑Episode Rapid Early Intervention (FREED) and ARFID pathways. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine assessments and triage for referrals indicating binge-eating disorder or bulimia. Deliver guided self-help programmes and CBT-based interventions (e.g., CBT-T and the First Stage of Treatment Programme). Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) and Clinical Practice Assessment (CPA) meetings. Manage an active caseload, prepare for and attend regular individual and group supervision. Maintain high levels of data quality and record-keeping. Lead and support an innovative digital pathway for patients with BED and bulimia. Support peers and the team leader, working independently yet collaboratively with other health and social professionals. Qualifications & Experience Enthusiasm for specialist mental health services. Ability to adapt to varied, independent work. Strong team-working skills and patient‑focused service delivery. Willingness to travel across Kent and Medway. Working Conditions Entry-level, contract position based in Kent and Medway across George Turle House, Canterbury and The Courtyard, Maidstone, with specialist support at Staplehurst. No inpatient caseload. Professional Development The post includes a probationary period and up to two weeks induction with mandatory training. New starters will also meet executive staff, senior managers, and attend drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing.
