Lecturer in Criminology and Public Services Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom Salary: up to A GBP 32,199 a year (depending on experience and qualifications + benefits) Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full time (37 hours each week, all year round) Closing Date: 05/01/2025 About The Role The College is looking to appoint a lecturer with experience in delivering criminology and public service lessons. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high‑quality teaching, learning, assessment, alongside internal moderation across a range of courses, up to and including Higher Education. This will include teaching from levels 1 to level 4, across different awarding bodies such as the Skills Education Group (Access) and NCFE. The role also involves course and/or module management, planning, preparation, marking, tracking learner progress, communication with students, parents/carers and external stakeholders, student recruitment and enrolment events, personal development activities, and invigilation. Key Responsibilities Deliver outstanding teaching and learning across all levels and awarding bodies. Prepare and mark assessments, contributing to internal moderation. Manage courses or modules as directed by the Line Manager. Track learner progress and set SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential. Communicate with students, parents/carers and external stakeholders. Participate in student recruitment and enrolment events. Engage in personal development activities and conduct invigilation duties. Qualifications and Experience Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification. Demonstrate effective and motivated teamwork with excellent interpersonal skills. Show competence in using innovative teaching delivery methods.
