Our Apprenticeship Program Our apprenticeships are designed to give you an insight into a wide variety of areas of work and the chance to explore where your skills and interests lie. Through a combination of on‑the‑job learning and practical skills development, you’ll work towards your professional qualification. From day one you’ll work on real projects that offer scale and variety, collaborating with others and creating a meaningful impact on the world around us. You’ll be supported by our leaders, technical specialists, your own dedicated mentor and our continuous learning and development framework. Key Responsibilities Develop and apply building services engineering techniques, procedures, and methods, including measuring, testing, designing, installing, commissioning, maintaining, and operating building services systems. Use advanced mathematical, statistical and data interpretation tools and analytical/computational methods to solve well‑defined engineering problems. Produce and interpret technical drawings, designs and models with analytical and computer‑based software packages, recognising software limitations. Ensure solutions comply with industry standards, procedures, codes of practice, regulations and legislation. Conduct risk assessments, monitor performance, and maintain health, safety, welfare, and environmental policies. Apply principles of sustainable development and assess the impacts of your work. Use project management techniques to measure and record progress against project plans. Report on quality using management and assurance systems, and drive continuous improvement. Identify, procure and manage resources, equipment and technology to meet project requirements, including budgets and timescales. Communicate using appropriate engineering terminology and conventions with various audiences. Apply ethical principles, including secure use of data and information. Plan, undertake and review your own professional competence, update CPD to improve performance, and become a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) at licentiate level. Qualifications & Training GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C/4) and at least five GCSEs total. A Level in relevant subjects – Maths, Science, ICT, Engineering (grade CCC, 96 UCAS points). Other relevant qualifications and industry experience are welcome. Apprenticeship includes dedicated time at college or university to focus on studies and professional qualifications. Can be adjusted to reflect prior knowledge and experience.
