Recovery Nurse/Theatre Practitioner The closing date is 17 December 2025 Do you fancy a change and to learn new skills? We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and dedicated Band 5 RGN/ODP who would like to further their professional development and work full‑time in our Main Theatre Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU). We are looking for self‑motivated individuals with excellent communication skills who thrive in a well‑supported clinical environment, that aims for excellence of care under our Trust values and vision. We offer support for CPD through a range of courses, study days and online learning. Main duties of the job The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) generically known as Recovery, is part of theatres and manages patients in the immediate post‑anaesthetic period. The unit sees a mixture of paediatric and adult patients undergoing day and inpatient procedures over a range of specialities to include those patients needing Critical Care. We are a small and friendly team with a real involvement in our unit, committed to deliver the best possible care to our patients and to support the wider theatre team. Our workload is flexible and varied with typical stays of between 30 minutes and 2 hours, but also overnight High Dependency Care is provided too. You must be willing to work a range of shifts to cover the 7 days/24 hour service and be happy to work closely with a multidisciplinary team as well as to work alone once competent. About us Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
