This is an opportunity to join the Ambulatory Emergency Care Team at Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon. Our overriding aim is to support individuals to maintain their independence at home, prevent unnecessary admission, and support people to regain independence after they have left hospital. Position We are looking for 2 × Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) to join the newly implemented Ambulatory Emergency Care Team on site. The service is a new initiative within the Cowal area, geared towards preventing unnecessary unplanned attendance, unplanned admission, and onward transfer by providing assessment, treatment and care in the right setting. Responsibilities Support the assessment, treatment and ongoing care planning/management for eligible patients as part of our alternatives to admission/urgent care pathways. Provide a clear focus on specific clinical presentations in line with available expertise and diagnostic capabilities on site. Actively contribute to the Frailty at the Front Door approach. Support the Hospital MDT and provide vital leadership, teaching, quality improvement, and audit workstreams that enable our practitioners to achieve the four pillars of practice. Qualifications and Experience Completed an NHS‑approved advanced clinical assessment and history taking module at degree level. Registered with the NMC as a non‑medical prescriber (V300). Significant experience working in acute inpatient services at an advanced practice level. Working Hours and Contract Full or part‑time hours are available. Fixed‑term and secondment arrangements are considered. Posts are fixed‑term until 30/11/2026, working from 8 am to 8 pm over 5 days on a rota basis, subject to change in line with demand.
