Construction Studies Lecturer at GEDU Global EducationDepartment: Academic/Bath Spa University partnership (BSU)Location: Greenford or Stratford (On-Site)Salary: £55,000Type of Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)Our Vision: Changing lives through education.The roleWe are currently seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Construction Management programme. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.What you'll be doingAs a Lecturer in Construction Management at Global Banking School, you will deliver modules related to the principles and practices of construction management, including the legal, environmental and technological context of today’s construction industry. You will develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, undertake all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment of students, and keep up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.ResponsibilitiesPlan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.Develop, update, and improve course materials as appropriate.Use a variety of learning and teaching methods and materials.Engage in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties.Stay up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.Work towards clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression.About YouHold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable).Have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area.Demonstrate extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.Maintain accurate reporting and thorough, organised student records.Work under pressure, plan and prioritise your workload to meet tight deadlines.Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.Work effectively with diverse groups of people.DesirableHold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commit to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent).Have experience designing or developing academic or professional education programmes or equivalent.What We Offer25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays.1‑day extra leave per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days.Workplace pension scheme.Tuition reimbursement for career development courses.Flexible benefits: Cycle to Work, Workplace Nursery, Tech scheme and more.Perks@Work discounts platform, wellbeing centre and more.Reward and recognition programme.£500 award employee referral scheme.Discretionary annual performance bonus.Testimonials“GBS has greatly supported my professional development by offering me a chance to teach diverse, non‑traditional students and by sponsoring my FHEA application, which has been invaluable in consolidating my teaching practices.”— John Traichaisit, Consultant LecturerGBS is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and provides a workplace free from discrimination or harassment.
