The constantly evolving restructuring landscape calls for a proactive approach, so you will need to push ideas harder and ask the difficult questions to give clients the assurance they need to support them through challenging periods of their lifecycle.We’re happy to discuss flexible working and consider reduced hours and job shares, and we’ll support you to balance your work and life.What the role involvesAs an Assistant Manager in the team, you will:Begin to understand and demonstrate the market and current developments (both work givers and competitors).Provide recommendations to ongoing negotiations and sales pitches including origination activities.Contribute to internal and external presentations for both the department and the firm.Build and nurture your own network both internally and external to the firm.Take part in internal and external events on training, marketing and assignment related subjects to promote recovery services.Apply technical knowledge appropriately in the context of individual clients and demonstrate skill and speed in resolving client problems.Make quick, clear and unequivocal recommendations to managers about client issues and generate a range of options and choices, narrowing these down appropriately.Understand the balance between the need for information and data and the client requirement for quick decisions and recommendations.Manage junior staff working on assignments, including coaching, identifying and addressing performance issues in a timely manner, and ensuring regular feedback and development opportunities for team members.Knowing you’re right for usJoining us as an Assistant Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is to have:A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)A good level of proficiency in using MS Excel and PowerPointKnowing we’re right for youEmbracing uniqueness, the culture at Grant Thornton thrives on the contributions of all our people.
