Second in Science – Sir John Colfox Academy We are inviting applications for the Second in Science role at Initio Learning Trust at Sir John Colfox Academy. The role starts from February/Easter 2026. Position Details Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 per annum (M1 to UP3). Use of Teaching and Learning Resources (TLR): 2.2 offered. Working Hours: 1265 hours full-time. Employment: Permanent. Responsibilities Teach Science at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5, including delivery up to A Level. Develop, share, and innovate best practice in Science education. Lead action research groups to improve student engagement and outcomes. Support and mentor colleagues in the department. Qualifications & Experience We are looking for a teacher with at least three years of classroom experience, a genuine passion for Science, reflective practice, and the ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students. Additional support is available for those who wish to progress to a Second in Science role later; enthusiasm for Science education and outstanding classroom practice are key.
